I would like to take the time to thank all of my Gold Star families. It is truly my honor that you all allowed me to honor your heroes this year. While I have not lost a child I have lost my father, my hero due to Camp Lejune Base Water Contamination. I will never forget your heroes and will pray for each of you every night. Please always remember that without you, their families, they would not be the heroes they are today. You each raised them with honor and love of country.
Again I thank you all for allowing me to honor your heroes and I hope to see you all again next Memorial Day.
Also a special thank you to Jewel Sapp-Aquino who helped me get the word out this year. Your strength is truly an inspiration.
May God bless you all and give you comfort in knowing that you will see your heroes again and that they will never be forgotten! ❤️

Sgt. Viselli was born Dec. 28, 1979, in Concord, to the late Raiford Ivy Landreth and June Jordan Landreth. She attended Concord City Schools, graduated with honors, and was Drum Major of the CHS Band, cheerleader, and track team member, as well as a member of the French Honor Society. She excelled in music, was an accomplished flutist, and earned the coveted first chair flutist position of the NC State Competition. She furthered her education at UNC Chapel Hill before joining the United States Marine Corps, where she proudly served her country during two tours in Iraq, was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, and attained the rank of sergeant.
Sgt Viselli was a true animal lover and will always be remembered for her compassion, her bright smile, creativity, and the great joy she brought to all.
Sgt Viselli is the sister of Wesley Landreth, one of my husband's best friends from the time they both served together in the Marine Corps. Though I never had the opportunity to meet Tara, I believe this photo of her speaks for itself. A woman with extreme conviction, strength, and commitment to her country, a woman whose smile would light a room, and a woman who served her country with honor and pride so that we can all enjoy the freedoms we have today, and a woman who made her family proud.

Gold Star Families,
I'd like to introduce to you Andrew Podmokly. Andrew is a current eighth grader and will be entering his freshman year of high school this fall. Andrew and his mother Julie came to me two years ago while getting ready for a Memorial Day Rememberance. Andrew only in middle school then spoke about his love for his country and his aspirations to one day join the military or to become a Police Officer. I then found out Andrew played in his middle school band. He told me he would like to play taps for your families to honor them. Of course I agreed. Andrew will be returning this year on Monday, Memorial Day at 3pm est to again honor your heroes. This will be streamed live for all of you to see.
It is rare these days to see a young person so proud and so ready to honor his country and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Many thanks to Danny and Julie Podmokly for raising such a wonderful young man.
To all my followers if you are able to make it to Antique 2 Chic Vendor Market on Monday, Memorial Day at 3pm to support Andrew and to show your support and respect to our fallen and the families left behind you are more than welcome and appriciated.
