If you ever worry you'll kill something expensive or rare, rest assured, it's way eaiser than you think! All the funky stuff I sell can easily thrive in Florida, otherwise I wouldn't sell it! Theres two important things to follow for succulents and cacti in Florida or any humid rainy area.
#1: succulents and cacti need to be outside for thier best life. They certainly can live indoors with the correct grow lights and/or window light. However, that takes a bit of work to find the right amount of light, water, and you're usually very limited on location indoors.
Outdoor growing is simpler. Find a very bright location that is out of direct rainfall.
That's #2, no direct rainfall is safest. If they get sprinkled from rain while on a covered patio, thats perfect. Try to never fully soak your succulents and cacti UNLESS they are in well draining soil, a breathable pot, and get some direct sun. The key is to not allow your plants to stay soaked and you can grow literally any succulents and cacti!
Never hesitate to reach out to me with questions! I want everyone to live thier best plant life and not let fear hold them back! Life is short!
