It’s hard sometimes to stay in step with God, isn’t it? Our old behaviors, thoughts and mindset can come crashing back when we least expect it.

Knowing that Jesus died for all of it recenters me and I am assured once again that because of Him, I will live forever with Him. I confess, repent and renew.

Just like my cat depends on me, we must depend on Christ. He will always be the constant companion to you and I when we fully acknowledge we cannot do this life without Him.

The prophet Jeremiah is credited with writing the book of Lamentations as a petition to the Lord to refrain from destroying the people lost in their wayward ways.

Today, we can read this and know that we can ask God for relief in the hard areas of life, for mercy when we have gone astray, for kindness when we are faced with cruelty from others.

When Hosea the prophet spike these words to the Israelites, it was in warning and assurance. A foretelling that God would redeem them and ransom them from themselves- through a miraculous miracle of Jesus in flesh- who would save them from their own destruction and death.
