Until we find out whether the studio can recover from the lack of opportunity created by the scaffolding outside, we've decided not to schedule classes in advance. Rather, here is a list of classes that Christine can teach if people are interested. If something piques your interest and you'd like to schedule something with Christine, let me know at the studio or post below and Christine can get together with you to schedule something. Her normal fee is $40 for a 2-hour class and $60 for a 4-hour class, plus materials cost, if any.
Knitting: Knit stitch, purl stitch, lace knitting, cable knitting, basic shawl construction, sock knitting (a pattern will need to be purchased for the sock knitting).
Crochet: Beginner crochet, single crochet, double crochet, amigurumi, crochet socks, tunisian crochet.
Spinning: Beginning to spin yarn on a drop spindle, Do I want a spinning wheel (trying out a wheel or three to see how they feel, if it is something they want to commit to), Plying basic yarn 2-4 plies (they need to bring singles to ply), Spinning art yarn, Plying art yarn.
Weaving: Winding a warp, warping a loom (4 shaft or rigid heddle), beginning to plain weave (balanced weave), twill weaving, lace weaving, art weaving, saori style weaving
Sewing: Beginning hand stitching, beginning machine stitching, starting a quilt, English paper piecing a coaster, English paper piecing a bowl, Beginning Slow stitched art pieces, Beaded slow stitching, basic embroidery, beaded embroidery, sewing a basic bag by hand.
Rug Hooking: Beginning rug hooking (if they want something to take home they will need to bring their own supplies or give me 3 weeks notice so I can order some).
Beginning to use a Cricut
Needle Tatting: Beginning needle tatting, adding beads to your needle tatting
Kumihimo: Using a Kumihimo disk to create a round or flat piece.
Needle Felting landscapes or animals, wet felting art pieces or small bags.
At this point, we expect the studio to remain open until the end of August. I'll reassess the situation toward that time and make a decision whether we can continue to stay open.
