It was such a joy creating with Janet Nelson this morning as she taught us how to think “negatively” using an intuitive approach inspired by pareidolia – seeing images in abstract shapes.

I wasn’t able to capture everyone’s creation, but here is a sampling of what we were working on.

It’s been so inspiring having in our feature gallery, I couldn’t help but create a style board using her painting “White and Green in Motion” as the inspiration!

Explore a playful, intuitive painting approach inspired by pareidolia – seeing images in abstract shapes.
Janet Nelson, an award-winning artist featured at Anne Rosa Interior Design, will begin the class showing how to create a vibrant, layered surface with loose color and mark-making. From there she will help you discover how to “find” imagery within the abstraction by painting the negative space, allowing forms to emerge naturally rather than being directly rendered.

This workshop focuses on trusting your instincts, embracing spontaneity, and transforming chaos into cohesive, expressive work. This is a perfect class for all experience levels.
