Our Ladies Bible Study group, from Bible Baptist Church of Jefferson City, MO, is reading the Tyndale Chronological Life Application Study Bible Today's Bible KJV. I am seriously behind in my reading plan; but, I keep on keeping on and onward I go...

I have ADD, and it's really hard for me to concentrate and quiet all the little "voices" in my brain, so I listen to the KJV by Dramatized version on BibleGateway.com while I am reading to help keep me on track. I read one chapter, then I stop the audio and read the study notes that go with that chapter, it works for me.

Today, I read the book of Ruth... When I read the book of Ruth I always see the strength, courage, and faith that Ruth demonstrates. She is a genuine role model for men and women alike about using the gifts God has given us to work hard and serve others.

But, today the study notes for Boaz really stuck me...

"Heroes simply do the right thing at the right time...they have a tendency to think of others before they think of themselves...Boaz was sensitive to others needs... offered help openly, not grudgingly... his words were colored with kindness... he not only did what was right, he also did it right away.

The Lessons from his life
-It can be heroic to do what must be done and to do it right.
-God often uses little decisions to carry out his big plan."

Just trying to catch up on my Bible reading and this note smacked me right in the face...

I spend too much time complaining instead of praying. Complaining raises my stress level. I should try to pray more because it quiets my thoughts and emotions and It prepares me to listen. I can listen to God, I can listen to my friends and my family, and I can listen to my own thoughts when I'm not complaining.

Let's all pray more and complain less.
