10 years ago, I was using my PTO to attend High Point Market. 🥹❤️
I still had my corporate job, and while most people were using their vacation days to actually vacation, I was using mine to chase a dream.
I’d come down on weekends, walk the showrooms, ask questions, meet people, and soak up as much knowledge as I could. I didn’t know exactly where this journey would take me, but I knew I needed to be in the rooms where the industry was happening.
And… I’m so glad I kept showing up!
Over the last 10 years, High Point Market has been so much more than furniture and beautiful showrooms. It’s where I’ve built friendships, gained invaluable knowledge, connected with incredible brands, and developed relationships that have literally changed the trajectory of my business and my life.
And the full-circle moments? Whew! From walking these halls as a girl with a dream to being featured at Market. God has been good!
But swipe to that second picture. ❤️
Before my first trip, my daughter Kennedy, who was just 6 years old, drew me a picture. When I asked her what it was, she said, “Mom, it’s you saying GOOD THINGS HAPPEN!”
Little did she know just how prophetic those words would become.
Here we are, 10 years later, and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for my family who supported the dream, the people who opened doors, and every connection made along the way.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you don’t have to wait until you’ve made it to start showing up like you belong.
Sometimes you have to take the PTO, book the flight, walk into rooms where nobody knows your name, and trust that you’re planting seeds for a future you haven’t seen yet.
And to my little girl who knew all those years ago…
Good things really do happen. ❤️
