Where high-end engineering meets an intentional retreat: proof that a bathroom footprint can be both sophisticated and perfectly functional.

Design is more than an aesthetic; it’s how your life functions.

When a kitchen or bath stops working for you, it adds a layer of friction to every single morning. We believe the most ā€œstunningā€ result isn’t just the tile choice—it’s the logic behind the layout and the precision of the ex*****on.

It was such a joy to bring this vision to life for a client who needed their space to perform at a higher level. They shared:

ā€œShamika was organized, communicative, and deeply involved every step of the way. Her attention to detail and ability to manage a complex renovation made a huge difference.ā€

Whether we’re solving for ergonomic gaps or navigating the bones of an established building, we lead with infrastructure first.

Is your home currently fighting you? Let’s build a space that supports your lifestyle instead of complicating it.

While Day 1 was about the ritual, Day 2 was about the engineering. I was incredibly honored to join and for a panel discussion that sits at the very heart of my practice: ā€œFrom Page to Place: How Materials Shape the Narrative of Home.ā€

I had the opportunity to speak specifically from the Small Space Perspective, sharing how we use intentional materiality to maintain and reinforce heirloom quality. In a compact footprint, every selection must be high-performance to ensure a legacy of longevity.

Here is what moved the needle for me on the floor during Day 2:

šŸ’Ž The Future of Surfaces: is redefining expectations with their new low-silica quartz and porcelain slabs. Between the ā€œleatheredā€ finishes and the bookmatched porcelain that rivals the strength of natural stone, they are proving you don’t have to sacrifice durability for a legacy aesthetic.

šŸ³ Kitchen Customization: is taking personalization to new heights. I’m obsessed with their customizable range hoods and the creative collab with . It’s the perfect example of how the infrastructure of a kitchen can be both functional and visually stunning.

🌈 Bold Performance: is bringing visual interest to the 24ā€ footprint. Their non-traditional colors in high-performance refrigeration are a major unlock for small-space design.

šŸ› Small Bath, Deep Ritual: We revisited the bathroom to find showcasing freestanding Japanese soaking tubs. These are a game changer — offering a restorative ā€œOfuroā€ experience without requiring the massive footprint of a traditional tub.

That’s a wrap on my time at KBIS 2026. āœŒšŸ¾

I left Orlando with a camera roll full of inspiration and a clear vision for our upcoming projects. Now, it’s time to take these innovations off the show floor and engineer them into the homes we’re building.

Which of these Day 2 finds would you want to see in your next project? Let’s talk strategy in the comments. šŸ‘‡šŸ¾

Design is a dialogue between logic and emotion.šŸŽ™ļø

I’m looking forward to joining a panel at KBIS in Orlando this year to discuss a topic at the core of my practice: ā€œFrom Page to Place: How Materials Shape the Narrative of Home.ā€

In my work, materials are more than just finishes-they are the physical infrastructure of a resident’s daily life. Swipe through to see this in practice: these recent kitchen and bathroom projects were engineered to ensure that every tactile choice-from the stone to the hardware-dictates a sense of ā€œeaseā€ rather than ā€œfriction.ā€

At , we’ll be navigating:

šŸ’«The impact of materiality on the daily rituals of a room.

šŸ’«Balancing high-end aesthetics with the reality of long-term engineering.

šŸ’«How to translate a conceptual narrative into a high-
functioning reality.

✨If you’re heading to the show, l’d love to have you in the room as we explore how intentional design turns a layout into a legacy.

Most homeowners fear the ā€œdemo surpriseā€ā€”that moment where a wall comes down, the plan falls apart, and the mental load skyrockets. But when you engineer the infrastructure of a project before the first hammer swings, a surprise isn’t a crisis. It’s just a pivot.

For this secondary bath, we audited every anti-preference and lifestyle habit upfront. Because the logic was already established, when the unexpected happened, the alternatives were already lined up.

The Result: A serene sanctuary and a process that felt, in my client’s words, ā€œeasy and fun.ā€

If you want to be walking into your own frictionless sanctuary by Summer 2026, the strategy needs to start now. I’m currently reviewing inquiries for projects looking to get started this spring to ensure a completion date before the summer months.

Luxury is a feeling, not a feature.

I’ve spent years auditing high-end homes, and I’ve realized something: You can spend six figures on finishes and still live in a house that drains you.

If your ā€œluxuryā€ home feels like a daily obstacle course—if you’re constantly fighting the layout, the lighting, or the flow—it isn’t luxurious. It’s just expensive.

True luxury is the absence of friction. It’s the invisible ease of a home that anticipates your habits before you have to think about them.

It’s the door that swings the right way. It’s the light that dims exactly when you need it. It’s the ease that lightens your mental load and gives you back your headspace.

You stop ā€œmanagingā€ your house and start living in it.

This is why my process starts with strategy, not shopping.

Luxury is when your home finally knows its job—so you can focus on yours.

If you’d told me in December 2023 what this year would hold, I wouldn’t have believed you. Every year brings its own unique blend of triumphs, setbacks, and valuable lessons. This year, though? Wow. The victories were numerous, the lessons profound, and the losses... well, I barely recognize them. As we gear up for our 6th year, I’m filled with anticipation for the exciting journey that awaits us in 2025. Here’s to more amazing clients, exciting projects, and incredible growth. Happy New Year!

Week 7 of the is coming to an end and the Kings’ Palace at Mimi’s is shaping up. The bed we found on FBMP was the perfect fit, but wrong tone for the space. A sexy whitewash was the perfect solution for our Caribbean vibes. We’ve got a few more items to check off on our list. Stay tuned for the reveal coming this week!!!
