When it comes to creative thinking, Sam Taylor has made a habit of living on the edge. With a vision for design and a desire to find an outlet for his creativity, Sam founded The Property Experts in the early spring of 2009. Since then, the business has grown, evolved and expanded in fascinating ways. Along the way, they have renovated, remodeled, updated, furnished, accessorized and sold some of the most coveted and beautiful homes in the region.

A unique business model that incorporates remodeling, interior design and real estate has grown to include exceptional furniture, distinctive accessories and a 15,000 square-foot showroom. Sam’s entrepreneurial intuition has allowed him to add value to many Tri-Cities properties in a very distinguished manner.

Sam Taylor comes from a design/build background and brings his own innate abilities to the business. For Sam, the business has allowed him to return to his roots in a way that is quite natural. His parents, as well as his grandparents, were in the design and furniture business for over 100 years. In fact, the family business was known as Taylor Furniture and resided in the same building where The Property Experts is now located – 207 N. Boone Street in historic downtown Johnson City. He grew up learning the ins and outs of the business while attending the annual North Carolina furniture markets with his parents. His interest in design and remodeling began at an early age and continued into adulthood as he and his wife began buying and renovating older homes in Johnson City.

The success of the Property Experts projects can easily be traced to one simple attribute – the ability of Sam to listen to his clients. β€œThat is the most important facet of any project we do,” said Sam. β€œIt is imperative we listen to our client and understand just what they are looking for.” As simple as that sounds, β€œlistening” to the desires of the client has allowed Sam to produce the type of results that not only reflect a beautiful design, but also reflect the personality of the client. From traditional, to contemporary, to transitional and nearly everything in between, The Property Experts take pride in being versatile enough to satisfy a wide variety of tastes and ideas. β€œIn reality, some of our best designs have been the ones that evolved through the course of the job,” said Sam. β€œSometimes when you force something, ideas and creativity tend to get pushed to the side.”
