Hi, my name is Sadie and I’m 27 years old and somewhere over the years I have lost my passion for crafting. One of my friends at work shared her passion for crocheting and desire to learn knitting and I realized that I missed having my creative outlet. I want to find my creative spark again and I’m not quite sure how to do that. I first started crafting during the pandemic. I was in my early 20s and scared by the world shut down and what that would mean for me. A friends mom had a Cricut and had personalized a handful of things for me over the years. Let’s be honest I was sold on the idea of a Cricut the second she handed me something with my name on it. Fun fact: Sadie isn’t a popular name to find on those cheap trinkets you find at gas stations or tourist destinations but you certainly can find it when you look at the dog souvenirs. 😂 I have always searched for my name on those spinning racks and coming up short often settling for my middle name but that never seemed the same. My whole family knows about my obsession to find my name on literally anything from those racks and it has become a sort of joke among us. To this day I only have a little trinket box that was a gift from my grandmother and a bracelet with my name on it. I was so excited when I purchased my Cricut and did the test cut and it came out perfect. I then cut a handful of simple stickers and was on cloud nine thinking I was a natural at crafting and creating. 😂 That enjoyment and excitement last only for a few hours because everything started going wrong and I had no clue what was happening. I was devastated and discouraged and felt like giving up but then I joined some groups for Cricut beginners and started to learn the basics of my craft. Suddenly things started going right again and I could create what I want and it (almost) came out the way I wanted it to. At the time I started crafting the only way to learn was by Facebook groups or YouTube if you knew what you were searching for. Now we have Facebook reels and other social media platforms to use to learn and perfect our crafts. I want to find my passion again and make videos of some of the things I have learned along the way in a positive setting. It breaks my heart that a lot of groups for beginners have crafting experts that belittle other for asking questions that they seem redundant or for not understanding what they are doing wrong. I want to help others while I find my crafting self again. I have many things I want try for the first time and things I want to perfect. My goal is to take along as many people who want to watch me learn, laugh with me and watch my failures and successes. Crafting is imperfect by nature and I just want to embrace it and encourage others to do the same.
