This might be the last summer of The Treasure Trader. Even with owning the building outright the bills are just crazy. Costs roughly $15,000 a year to keep the lights on, insurance etc. and that’s with only being open 2 days a week. If I was open 6 days a week that number would likely triple. Not to mention property tax. When I look around my store, I see a lot of cool, rare and historic items. But I also have been noticing how much time and money I have invested into hunting down and acquiring these items all while keeping the lights on, and funding my personal life etc. A lot of that time and money is just sitting there looking cool on the shelf. Just doesn’t feel sustainable or like it’s going to get me to where I want to be in life. The local economy doesn’t support it (one of the poorest county’s in the state) and it really doesn’t matter for my business if I have a physical store or not. Most of my sales are online. Ive been open almost 2 years and there’s still people that I’ve considered good friends that live within an hour away that have never even stopped in to say hi. Even my mother thinks I should close the store and go do something else with my life. It’s been a fun endeavor but I need it to make sense on paper first and foremost. Going to push through this summer and decide what to do this fall. But just a heads up, there’s a good chance you’re running out of time to get The Treasure Trader experience. Stay tuned!

Do you all remember the original patent/blueprint I posted a few weeks back?! The rest of the grouping is finally here so it’s time to spill the beans!

This is a historic grouping of inventor Charles “Chas” Nadig!

The Nadig Brothers invented “The Adam of All Automobiles” which is believed to be the worlds first automobile! Hence the cool nickname!

The car itself I believe is located in “The Wheels of Time Museum” in Pennsylvania! Going to be giving them a call for first shot on this one.

Below is historic ephemera in regards to Charles Nadig’s horseless carriage, his patent correspondence about inventing hydraulic brakes (even letters to and from General Motors)! Original engine catalogs, patents, blueprints and more!

History is amazing!
