🖼️ Can you believe we’re at the end of January already?

We’ve just kicked off a new year, and we’re about to wrap up the first month! It feels like the perfect time for fresh art and new beginnings.

2009, Nail Polish on print on canvas, 2’ x 2

This is a nail polish painting on a print of a 2” x 2” painting I did in 1977, enlarged to 2’ x 2’, of a 200 foot Persian carpet from the desert that the sheiks pitched their tent on top of. And I painted different sections of the carpet, which was this very intense overall patterning. This is one of my paintings that is ALL nail polish! I loved doing it.

I paint with nail polish! This is a Jackson Po***ck by a woman! “Jackie Jackson"!! As a young art student at Hunter College in NYC, I couldn’t afford oil paint. So I used what I had! I started to ask myself is there a way to do overall patterning and create radiance. Fierce treatment of the surface, iridescent colors, referencing Po***ck’s intense rhythm and movement.

🎶 Can walls have rhythm?

When you think of "rhythm," music might come to mind—but did you know it also applies to art and how you arrange it in your space?

In design, rhythm means the repetition of visual elements to create a sense of consistency. It guides the eye through art and your home, sometimes even on a subconscious level, making a space feel cohesive and welcoming.
