Because the frame is thin and delicate, it can be easy to stretch or distort the shape when lifting the raw, uncured clay from your work surface. For best results, cut the outer frame and remove the center with the inner frame cutter directly on a smooth, shiny ceramic tile. Leave the frame in place and bake it directly on the tile so it keeps its shape.
Once baked and cooled, remove the frame from the tile. Use Oven-Bake Adhesive to attach it to the back piece, add the cat and any other elements, then bake the assembled piece again.
Don’t worry about baking twice! Polymer clay can be baked multiple times. As long as you use the correct temperature for your clay, additional baking cycles will not harm or burn it.
