African Violets...
A highly popular, compact, indoor flowering houseplant. They're native to the Tanzanian and Kenyan cloud forests and are famous for their rosettes of fuzzy green leaves and continuous, year-round blooming capacity.
Did you know these beauties can live for decades if given the proper care? You read that right, decades! They prefer bright, indirect sunlight - an east- or north-facing window as it will prevent their leaves from scorching. They never want to sit in standing water - no soggy soil! Using room-temperature water is best. Water on their leaves could also cause brown spots, so bottom watering is best. They appreciate a moderate humid area that stays between 65° and 75°. Use a light, highly porous, well-draining soil mix in a small pot - they do like being root bound.
