I've had my space 4 months now. This is where I started and the last pictures are from today. Holy cow have I come a long way. When I started this I had no idea what I was doing ( not sure I really know now either), but I keep trying new things, offering more and more variety and trying to make my space feel like it's own little shop within the shop. All the little nuances I'm still learning but boy oh boy it's been a hell of a roller coaster ride so far! And I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for taking a chance on me. I'm so glad to be a part of such a great group of people.

It's fall y'all and nothing sparks a debate as fast as pumpkin spice lattes is CANDY CORN! 😅 people either love it or hate it. I happen to be a fan (don't judge!) so in the spirit of the season I've created these sweet autumn mix (like the candy) bowl fillers. The great thing about these candies is they are non-caloric and look so cute in old fashioned bowls and dishes. I have staged some on my coffee table at home and then also in my space . Quite the transformation! I love using General Finishes Lamp Black milk paint. It goes in so smooth and has an outstanding finish. My client wanted to keep the drawers stained. Lots of time sanding and then bringing back to life. But maybe the hardest thing was cleaning up the original hardware. Lots and lots of scrubbing. I love how the black makes it modern and the stain is a nod to its history.

I don't just make pieces for the shop. I also do custom work for clients. This piece is for a young newlywed. The drawers haven't been touched yet. They will be sanded down and re-stained to keep this gorgeous two-toned look helping this antique dresser keep it's antique vibe with a modern twist.

I was hoping to do a LOT! of treasure hunting while in France to bring to but Europeans strongly believe in holiday and the month of August is when this seems to happen. So most of these small businesses are closed. Yesterday we visited a castle in Annecy, the Montrottier Castle. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries. So I thought I'd share some of the beautiful treasure and finishes in this stunning 1000 to 800 year old castle. Stay tuned for a reel featuring the entire castle!

I tried to antique shop today BUT! It's a public holiday and so most stores and restaurants were closed. Tomorrow however, off to Annexy! It's known as the Venice of France.
