Crochet cannot be made by a machine so that means someone made this entirely by hand. I can't imagine the person who made this was paid more than a dollar, if that. If I were to make this it would take me hours (probably 10+) and I'm an experienced crocheter. Even after making this many times, it would still take significant time to complete.
I know that Target also has crocheted items, some for even cheaper.
Obviously pretty much all clothing is made under poor conditions. This one is a glaring slap in the face of human rights.

*Scroll for an example of knit vs crochet. There are a lot of different knit and crochet stitches. These are the most common ones. Knit can be and, in stores, always made on a machine. Crochet is absolutely always handmade. If you see squares like these pictured in a garment, hat, scarf, blanket, etc - it is always crochet.

Anybody know what movie this is from? It's an absolute FAVE around here. Working on recreating it 😍😍😍. That meant hunting down images from an online auction of the actual blanket, it's a LOT different than it looks in the movie!
