🎒📚 We’re Excited to Announce Our Official Back-to-School Supply Sponsor! 📚🎒

A Kid & A Kitchen is proud to welcome MERS Missouri Goodwill Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas as the official school supply sponsor for our 2026 Back-to-School Drive!

Thanks to their incredible generosity, 75 backpacks will be filled with school supplies and distributed to students in our community, helping them start the school year prepared and confident.

We are truly grateful for MERS Goodwill’s commitment to investing in our youth and supporting families across Kansas City. Partnerships like this make a lasting impact and remind us what can happen when a community comes together.

✨ A Dream Turned Into a Story! 📚💙

We’re proud to announce the upcoming release of Dad and Me, a children’s book written by my amazing daughter, Caleigh Jade Kirkwood.

Inspired by her real-life experience growing up alongside me in my catering business, this book celebrates family, hard work, creativity, and the joy of cooking together. We hope it inspires young readers to dream big and discover the confidence that comes from learning new skills.

Every purchase makes a difference—100% of the proceeds go directly toward helping A Kid and A Kitchen continue providing youth with hands-on culinary, health, and literacy experiences.

Join us as we prepare our youth for a successful school year with an afternoon of fun, learning, and community!

Another Summer Program wrapped up with Linwood YMCA This is our 3rd year with their Fusion Program!! It’s always a joy teaching the youth in the program. Familiar and new faces. Can’t wait for next year! Thanks to GKCRA for their continued support of A KID AND A KITCHEN

This is year 3 that A Kid and A Kitchen has partnered with Linwood YMCA for their Summer Fusion Program!! One of my favorite parts of our involvement, is having the youth read aloud the curriculum for the day!! It really surprises me how eager they are to read!!!
