I was watching tv in the living room when someone knocks on my door.Sierra starts barking. Wondering who was knocking I start opening my door Sierra goes out and I hear a loud pop sound. I yell "don't shoot, don't shoot", and see Sierra running towards me then there's a flash, another loud pop and a sarcastic "oops to late" as her body turns being struck by a bullet inches from me. I look up and h
eard "she was charging at me." I yelled "she was running away" then I drop to her side. Knowing at that moment there was nothing I could do to help her except give her some comfort I yelled into the house "omg! they shot Sierra" Then I start crying uncontrollably as I told her "I was so sorry, shes a good girl, everything would be ok and I would be ok, she didn't deserve it." Scott who had been in the shower comes to the door to see what is going on. I hear him say its not funny shes a member of the family. Most of what was said at this point is a blur and I only recall a few things being said. One thing I recall is the taller officer saying "they can call animal control," I asked "why" and he replied to "remove the body" which I sobbed out a loud "NO!!"
What seemed like hours only ended up being a total of 15 minutes. When they knocked on my door they NEVER stated who they were nor did they as my door started opening. It wasn't until Sierra had tried to take a final breath that I even realized it was the police standing there. As it was happening I only remember seeing two people, one taller than the other and mostly in dark clothing I was never told why the police came to my home and didn't learn the reason until the police made a statement with local media on Aug 2 stating they received a call and the caller said they heard yelling and loud noises. That they were afraid for their safety. The police trespass onto my property in the middle of the night guns drawn, fingers on the trigger, take aim at my home, my front door taking a stance and prepare to shoot whoever or whatever may came out the door. Knock on my door, failing to even announce that they were police, fire two shots in my direction with the front door open, hitting and killing Sierra at my feet with the second shot based on a call that is completely hear say and may or may not be true? The call was completely false and I will be trying to get a lawsuit against the caller as well since they played a part in all this as well. I watched the video for the first time Tuesday morning then the other videos Wednesday morning. If they were afraid of their safety why did they park almost an 1/8 of a mile away and walk down my driveway in darkness? How afraid could that really be the porch light was on, lighting up the walk way to my home, they were wearing bullet proof vest, and had guns drawn? How afraid were they when that defensive stance was taken as he pointed his weapon at that door, even double checking to see if he liked his position he was in and standing up straighter while his partner reach out knocking? The body language they had as they approached seems that they weren't afraid and the police have never been called out to my home since I purchased the property late 2009, early 2010. So there's no history of anything that should make them fear a single 43 year old mother of two. They were ready to shoot whoever came out that door. Sierra unfortunately happened to go out first and this surprised the officer and since he was prepared to have to shoot fired his weapon missing Sierra and myself. Then he decided to murdered Sierra as she tried running into the house in with her head down and tail between her legs took a step towards us he fired again. https://www.gofundme.com/justice4sierra
