My letter to the City

We are prohibited from using bandit signs, banana signs, and a few years ago, the City attempted to prohibit us from flying antique signs. Even considering digital signs for Katy is an utterly absurd idea. This will not be a positive image, and after all the effort invested in the square, it will only devalue Katy. No, no, and no way.
I am unable to attend the meeting as we are open later than 4:30 PM, as are most people who would be affected. A later meeting would have been beneficial.
I would also like to add that the City appears to permit McDonald’s to fly numerous banana signs, while businesses around the square have received registered letters informing them that they would face fines if they flew them. Why is McDonald’s, churches, and other businesses permitted while we are not? The City’s decision-making process seems to favor some businesses while disregarding others.
