🚂 Join Us for a Special Moment in Katy History!

On Saturday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m., we invite the community to the Historic J.V. Cardiff & Sons Rice Dryer for a special check presentation as The Dryer proudly presents the Katy Heritage Society with its first donation check from the proceeds of the ride-on train.

This milestone represents more than a donation—it celebrates a unique partnership that has flourished over the last five years between The Dryer and the Katy Heritage Society. Together, these organizations have worked to preserve, share, and celebrate Katy’s rich history while creating new opportunities for families and visitors to connect with our community’s heritage.

The ride-on train has become a favorite attraction for children and families visiting the historic site, and every ride helps support the preservation of Katy’s history for future generations.

We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate this exciting achievement, recognize the impact of this partnership, and look ahead to continuing our shared mission of honoring Katy’s past while inspiring future generations to appreciate the stories that shaped our community.

Thoughts on this election:

A few things I’d like to remind our Katy friends, if you were a fan of the Market, Lyn Sullivan and Rory Robertson did their best to help bring it to a close. She even went so far as to speak on talk radio about the origins of the Market, claiming it was started in 2004. It was not, and she has never admitted that her statement was untruthful.

She is now running for City Council to replace Rory Robertson. The two of them run the COKRF (City of Katy residence forum) from which many of us have been banned. They control the narrative by deleting and banning anyone with an opposing opinion. This is not freedom of speech, and a councilperson should not be in a position to silence constituents thoughts and comments. She has even said that, if elected, she will continue this practice.

She also supported Proposition 19, a self-serving measure to extend council terms to 12 years, among other tactics. It was clearly defeated.

She was also reportedly arrested last month for domestic violence and intoxication.

Friends and neighbors please keep this in mind when you vote.

We do not expect or want to recreate KMD that chapter is over, but we do want you all to know who was mostly responsible.

KMD is endorsing Michael Meilhs, Paul Follis and Johnson Dietz
