Recommended reads that I have read and reread ever since finding these paperbacks. Oh how my copies are getting worn! Ann-Marie MacDonald may be the greatest surprise of a book I had never heard of and that no one I recommend it to has ever heard of. It gripped a hold on my soul and grew alongside my career and my awareness of “how?” - the how that we know can happen in an instance. For nonfiction, if you’re not already reading “Say Nothing,” then read “The Lost Children of Wilder.” Be prepared to CARE about children in foster care. Nina Bernstein nailed it. The legal odyssey in plain English. Individual children, who are human beings who grow up with the scars of our not having delivered what they needed when we, as a society said, you will be better off removed from your parents, your relatives, your school, and your friends and neighborhood. And, if you think Karleen Koen Writer is a lightweight basis the cover? I’m not going to be the spoiler. And in!

Starting the build out in Keene Valley for the 2027 version of Downton Antiques in the Adirondacks, and it begins with inventory housing! A BIG shout out to Kevin for getting this industrial shelving organized and set up to my specs. Storage space is what I haven’t had to allow curated displays. A means you don’t know what you find or when. Sometimes, it’s a lucky break of a set or a grouping. Mostly, it’s individual items that need research and further hunting and waiting for that right combination. There’s fun in random! However…. I’m challenging myself to show the vision I have for “bespoke antiques.” Inventory - organized inventory! To achieve a curated look. For you. Your family and friends. Your home and work and creative space. Here we go!
