One of my favorite styling techniques is curating small collections that invite a closer look. On this coffee table, carved stone seals gathered in a hand-carved lapis lazuli bowl sit alongside an antique blue-and-white porcelain dish and a beautiful collected seashell, creating a vignette that feels both worldly and deeply personal.

Each piece has its own history, but together they create a sense of curiosity and discovery. The carved seals feel almost architectural in their patterns, while the rich blue lapis bowl adds depth and color. The shell softens the arrangement with its organic form, a reminder that the most interesting interiors are layered with objects that tell a story.

Luxury isn’t about having more. Sometimes it’s about living with meaningful things—pieces that spark conversation, inspire memories, and bring beauty to the everyday.

An overlooked area in a hallway is the perfect place for a curated collection.

Here, we added a bench and layered it with a coastal-inspired arrangement of Sailors Valentines, books and collected treasures. The hand-painted purse adds a touch of whimsy while tying the entire vignette together.

One of my favorite design principles is giving everyday spaces a purpose beyond simply passing through them. Hallways are often treated as transitional spaces, but with a thoughtful collection of objects, they can become destinations in their own right.

The result is a welcoming moment that sets the tone for the rest of the home and reflects the relaxed elegance of coastal living.

There’s something especially satisfying about bringing new life to an old surface.

We’ve lived in this 1869’s Coastal Farmhouse for about two years now, and little by little we’ve been making it our own—thoughtfully layering in pieces, finishes, and details that reflect the way we live and what we love.

This kitchen island has always been the heart of the house, so when it was time for a refresh, my husband took on the refinishing himself. We selected a finish that feels warm, timeless, and perfectly suited to the character of the space. The rich wood tones highlight the beautiful grain and add a sense of depth that makes the entire room feel more inviting.

I love the idea that a home evolves over time. The most beautiful spaces aren’t created overnight—they’re shaped through countless small decisions, projects, and improvements that gradually tell your story.
This countertop is one more step in that journey, and every time I walk into the kitchen, I smile at his beautiful work!

Few objects capture maritime history quite like scrimshaw.

Created aboard whaling ships during long voyages at sea, these intricate engravings were carved by sailors onto whale teeth and bone, transforming raw natural materials into remarkable works of folk art. Ship portraits, coastal scenes, and moments from daily life were carefully etched by hand, each piece carrying the story of both its maker and the journey that inspired it.

This collection has been gathered over time, piece by piece, drawn together by a shared connection to craftsmanship, seafaring history, and the enduring appeal of objects with a story to tell. Displayed together, they create a fascinating glimpse into a chapter of maritime life that shaped much of New England’s coastal heritage.

Spending the summers at our home in coastal Maine, I’m continually drawn to objects that reflect our connection to the sea—and few do it more beautifully than scrimshaw.

I often think of objects in curated collections as threads in an exquisitly woven textile. Each piece brings its own color, texture, history, and origin. From hand-carved figures and blue-and-white porcelain to sea fans, shells, and treasures gathered from around the world, every object here has found its way into our home. Some traveled across oceans, some came from antique markets and estate collections all over the country, and others were discovered here in Maine. Together, they create something far more beautiful than any single piece could on its own.

One of my favorite design principles is the rule of ten: when styling a surface or shelf, group objects in generous numbers rather than stopping at two or three. A collection becomes more impactful when it feels abundant, curated, and thoughtfully gathered over time.

The magic happens when pieces from different countries, cultures, and decades come together in one place. What began as separate journeys ends up telling a single story.

There has always been something magical about treasures gathered from the sea.

Coral the color of a summer sunset. Turquoise as bright as coastal waters. Luminous mother-of-pearl, amethyst, crystal, sterling silver, and gold-filled elements collected across decades and layered together into one-of-a-kind necklaces that feel discovered rather than designed.

Inspired by the romance of life beneath the waves and the dream of a world just beyond the horizon, each piece in our Mermaid Collection is a gathering of beautiful objects with their own history, thoughtfully brought together into something entirely new.

Part treasure hunt, part heirloom, part summer by the ocean.
The Mermaid Collection has arrived.

I’ve always believed that true luxury lives in the details. It’s about surrounding yourself with beautiful objects that elevate even the most ordinary moments of daily life.

Remote controls, chargers, reading glasses, and all the little necessities that are part of every home, but they don’t need to be on display.
A beautiful antique box offers the perfect solution—keeping essentials close at hand while adding warmth, character, and history to a space.

This gorgeous wooden box now serves as a discreet home for the television remotes, transforming a practical necessity into something that feels intentional and refined.

The pieces we choose to live with should be as lovely as the lives we’re creating around them.

Just in time for a summer weekend in Kennebunkport.

This newest collection is filled with the pieces that always seem to find their way into a New England summer story — antique lockets tucked beneath linen collars, shimmering crystal pendants catching the light, and nautical anchors that feel right at home from dockside dinners to long walks along the coast.

Curated with our seaside lifestyle in mind, these one-of-a-kind finds layer beautifully with sun-kissed skin, crisp white shirts, woven baskets, and days spent between the harbor and the beach.

As always, every piece is unique and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Available this weekend.

The shell boxes on our coffee table started the way most collections do — one picked up at an antique store, one from a neighbors yard sale, then another made by a local artist at a craft fair, and somehow years later it becomes a record of summers spent by the sea.

Layered among fresh lilacs, woven textures, and coastal treasures collected over time, they’re a reminder that the most beautiful homes are built slowly. Not from a single shopping trip, but from meaningful objects gathered along the way.

Every shell, every antique find, every weathered treasure carries a story. Together they create a home that feels deeply personal, lived in, and connected to the places we love most.

Summer in Maine is officially underway.
