We love a good book, & getting together with friends to chat about it. So, this summer we’ve decided to have a little Book Club. We’re going to read “The Girl with the Suitcase” by Lesley Pearse. It looks like a quick summer read, set in London during World War II. Then, in mid-July, whoever wants to join us will be invited to a drinks🍹& discussion📚party.

May is Melanoma & Skin Cancer Awareness month & we’re on a mission to raise awareness of this completely preventable disease! One of the ways we can do that is to raise money towards awareness. This Saturday we will be holding a fundraiser, & donating 20% of all of our profits that day to Melanoma Research Foundation.

This month we’re shining a light on a cause close to our hearts. May is Melanoma & Skin Cancer Awareness month. We first became intimately aware of this deadly cancer when our dad was diognosed with metastasized melanoma in 1999. He was gone in a very short 8 months. At the time, there was no treatment for his particular case. Fortunately, medical reshearch has come a long way. Please join us this month as we shine a spotlight on skin cancer. We’ll be posting information on our website & social media this month, sharing ways to prevent skin cancer.⁣ 
⁣ 
We’d also like to highlight . We discovered the Melanoma Research Foundation while raising funds for cancer research after we lost our dad. MRF, located in DC, was founded in 1996 and has grown to be the largest, independent organization solely focusing on melenoma. Their mission is to eradicate melamona by accelerating medical research while educating & advocating for the melanoma community. Check them out for information & fundraising opportunities.⁣

You’ve seen our amazing Kensington poster, now meet the artist behind the design. Ale Rodriguez-Gitler, a Latinx Graphic Designer & Illustrator who has been part of the DC design scene for the past decade will be here with all of her prints, postcards, & stickers created out of her colorful digital illustrations.  
 
Plus, Aubrey will be here with her freshly baked, gourmet brown butter crispy treats. Aubrey is raising money to journey to Guatemala with HXP, a humanitarian outreach program with global impact through sustainable service.
