Now is a really good time to do some major energy cleansing and protection work around your home.
With all the chaos in the world, there is a lot of heavy, icky energy floating around in the aether. This type of energy can not only make your home an uncomfortable place, but can attract lower level entities into your space.
One of my go-tos, and what I always recommend to people for heavy duty cleansing, is Tar Water. (I do sell Tar Water in my Etsy shop.)
First, follow the instructions that come with the Tar Water. Basically, dilute it in water in a spray bottle and use it to go through the whole house, back to front, ordering anything unwanted out, being very commanding.
After cleansing, you need to fill the energetic void that has been left behind. Do this by using something like Florida Water, Kananga Water, Sweetgrass, or a flowery incense, while inviting in the Ancestors and other benevolent spirits.
Now comes the time to ward and shield the home. Use black salt or red brick dust at the door thresholds and at each window. You can lay the line of salt or brick dust under a mat or throw rug at each door, or even temporarily remove the metal threshold at the door, lay the line, and then replace the threshold. This will keep it intact longer. As for the windows, you just need a pinch at each window sill.
You can also use railroad spikes or coffin nails at each outside corner of the home. If you're in an apartment, place a small pot of dirt at each of those corners inside and place the spike or nails in those. Dress the spikes or nails with a protection oil (like Fire and Thorns Protection Oil) to add to the layers of protection.
You might also benefit from using the Tar Water in a cleansing bath to remove any attachments or energies clinging to you. If you are on a city sewer system, you can add a couple of capfuls of Tar Water to a bathtub of water, bathe in it, then allow the water to drain out into the sewer system. If you have a septic tank and are not connected to city sewer, you should mix a bit of the Tar Water with water in a pitcher. Then stand over a bucket in the shower and pour the water over you, collecting the run off in the bucket. You'll dispose of this water off of your property. In either case, air dry after the cleansing - don't use a towel to dry.
You may want to consider wearing some kind of protective amulet or talisman. This can be something created just for this purpose, or just a piece of jewelry you wear that you anoint with a protection oil.
Finally, I always recommend setting up an Ancestors Altar in your home. This can be elaborate, or as simple as a shelf or small table upon which you place mementos of those family members that have passed on. This can be photos, keepsakes, letters, whatever speaks to you. Then sit at this altar, light a candle and welcome your Ancestors in. Thank them for the very fact that their lives allowed you to exist. Ask for their protection and guidance. Once a week, set out a cup of coffee, a glass of water, or some other offering for them overnight on the altar. In the morning, pour or leave this offering outside under a tree.
I hope some of this was helpful. Your home should be a place of peace and refuge from the world. And so it is.
