Today marks 100 days since my life changed forever.
100 days since I have been outside.
100 days without fresh air
100 days away from my pups and home
100 days in a hospital bed
100 days of my sister and Aunt putting their lives on hold to be by my side.
100 days of prayers from near and far (please keep those coming)
And 100 days that I’m still alive and fighting.

I am scheduled to be released on Wednesday to home health care. I contracted MRSA in my surgical wound and will be on iv for probably 6+ weeks. I’ll use the time to get back to walking and pick up the shattered pieces of my life. Almost everything has changed and I’m a different person. I miss my life and who I was before. , But for today I carry gratitude that I am still breathing and soon will be taking in the salty air of my island home.

This is Tonya’s sister Tara. We just wanted you to know that Tonya has been in Mt Sinai for the last two weeks in critical care following emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction and sepsis. Hello friends, I’m so appreciative of the support. It’s hard to express how much gratitude I have for the kindness. I’m struggling and finding it difficult to not have the store. The shop was my livelihood, but it was also a way for me to connect with the community and visitors. I loved talking up the Island to visitors. I always wanted people to leave the shop having had a good experience and I felt honored to be a small part of their vacation memories.

My health has been a mixed bag the past few weeks. The new medication is lowering my heart rate which is very good. I’ll get test results on Monday regarding the vascular issues. Prayers are always very much welcomed and appreciated.

Off to see the cardiologist today and vascular on Friday. They come down from Miami Mount Sinai. I’ve been waiting a while, but grateful to be in their care.

One week from tomorrow, the last page of Island Love Story will be written. I’ve started discounting merchandise 30 to 40%. Almost everything except artisan items. My plan is to be open tomorrow from 11 to 2:30 or 3 and Monday as well. Unfortunately I’m contending with a health complication that is slowing me down.

I have a lot of fabric samples and sample books that make for great art projects. I’m going to start putting them out on Monday for anyone that could use them. I just would like things to go to good use rather than the landfill. If you all can spread the word to anyone, you know that may have use I would appreciate it.. I also have a lot of rug samples.

Happy Tuesday! The plan was to get in there today and open up but so far I haven’t been able to make that happen. If I do end up getting things under control, I will post that I’ve opened. Sorry to anyone that I will have missed. Hoping tomorrow is kinder.
