Thistle Floral and Home limited schedule:
May 2 Tuesday to Friday May 5. The shop will be open daily during those days from 1pm-4pm and on Saturday May 6 for the inaugural evening of the Kingston Sunset Market, the shop will be open from 5pm - 8pm. In lieu of flowers Zoe and others have been creating wonderful Mothers day’s gift baskets with items from the shop.

This is Wilo Castillo Shannon’s husband. It’s been several weeks since Shannon’s passing and in that time I’ve had many conversations with my children and some people within the community that Shannon and I mutually respected. After several meetings with them, I’ve decided that I’m going to sell the flower shop. Please note that the name will not be sold and it will need to remain a flower shop (as we believe this would be her wish). You will not find a better turn key opportunity to move right in with an established shop, clientele, vendor list and road map for success that has been laid out by the previous 11yrs of Shannon and Robbins hard work and dedication. You will even have the opportunity to utilize Zoe’s experience at the shop with Shannon as she’s indicated that she would consult with any new owner to assist. You might even already have a deliver driver (I have not asked him yet) but he was Shannon’s uncle and did a marvelous job of delivering flowers for Thistle Floral and Home. I truly believe that this would be a wonderful opportunity for someone who’s willing to work hard and ingratiate themselves with the Kingston community.

Words cannot express the level of gratitude and appreciation my family and I have felt with the outpouring of love and sentiment from the community. I was blessed to be married to Shannon and have her be a part of my life but I’m also thankful that I was able to share her with Kingston. She truly loved this community and it’s people. She became close friends with many of you through the shop and her tireless dedication to the community. Many are looking for an opportunity to grieve collectively and I want to be part of this with you!! Shannon wouldn’t want it any other way. Once I’ve completed her arrangements and have a grasp on my life there will be a celebration of life for her. I’m communicating with our children to find a date (sooner than later) to do this. When we do, it will be announced here and on other platforms and it will be held at Thistle Floral and Home. I’m heart broken to have to announce that Thistle will be closing soon. I don’t have the heart to keep a the shop that was founded by Shannon and Robbin open knowing they are both gone from us. I’m working with Zoe to figure out a schedule to keep the shop open for those who’ve asked and through their generosity and love just want to enter the shop and feel her spirit and love there once more. Again, once I figure that out we’ll announce it here. We will not be selling flowers but just our home merchandise. I’m hoping that we can afford people the opportunity to take a piece of Thistle Floral and Hone back with them. From the bottom of my broken heart, Wilo

It is with deepest sadness we must share the sudden passing of Shannon Castillo, owner of Thistle Floral and Home in Kingston, Washington.
Shannon never met a stranger.
Her loving spirit and spontaneous laughter were ever gracious to all those who visited her little shop. Thistle was the heartbeat of town. Gratitude to those that loved her and for the business support of the community and beyond. This has been devastating.

Please respect the privacy of the family at this time while things are sorted out. The shop will be closed until further notice.
