When we find issues with subflooring we always find a way to remedy the situation. This subfloor was sitting level with the rest of the subfloor but when walked on we noticed it was dropping. We cut the subfloor out to reveal a termite eaten floor joist. We ended up scabbing new joists on both sides of the bad joist, setting them on the plate and running them long enough to find solid wood in that joist. Lag bolts were ran through all 3 joists to secure everything properly.

2000 sq ft of engineered hardwood glued down. This floor would have been nearly impossible to install if the door casings were already installed. It’s a type that can be floated with the locking system on it but they would not slide in the glue once it went down. The finished product turned out really nice!

Today we found some floor damage in a few areas from water intrusion. I called my buddy Aaron to diagnose and I’m glad I did! All of those look like electrical wires till you zoom in…

When installing a glue down engineered floor and you have to run 2 separate sections by themselves once leaving the foyer, you just pray that when you are able to get the long runs back together that the rows line up. There was no way of knowing how these 2 pieces would fall once we got around all the walls in the dining room and kitchen. I was elated when we got around the back side of the peninsula/island and saw that they lined up perfectly without a single adjustment needed.
