Finally wrapped this one up. I am very pleased with how this came out. There’s a few touch ups that need to be done but I need to wait for the countertop to be put in place. (It’s not going to be wood). Walnut cabinets with maple push to open drawer boxes. Solid hickory shelves with walnut accent banding.

This is my favorite way to build drawer boxes. Rabbets and pins. The rabbets make for a pretty smooth glue-up

Using the biscuit joiner to install face frames is something I have not heard people talk about when doing the how to builds. I only thought of it because of the lamello joiner. This system works fantastic. It also allows me to install onsite so I can scribe the face frame to the wall if needed. There are actual biscuits specific for this operation, but I’m just using regular ones here.

We got this whiskey barrel cabinet all done today. This thing was in rough shape when I got it, but it’ll get many more years of life now. It has an automatic led light system, a magnetic door to stay secure, and charred shelves. The shelves are probably my favorite part. The texturing came out awesome. There are a few things I would do different with this being my first whiskey barrel build. I’ll be doing another one soon.

I’ve been quiet on here, but have been putting in quite a few hours on these 3 boards. They came from what I think is an oak burl. The pictures do not do the figuring justice. The juice groves were free hand and they came out pretty nice too.
