So I am making messes this evening. Made a mess yesterday, that ended in failure. Goes with the territory when you are learning your craft.
Anyway, I am trying a couple different things with the resin I have left until my order of deep pour gets here sometime later in the week.
I had someone ask why resin items tend to be expensive...well, a quality resin will run you AT LEAST a dollar an ounce. People see live edge tables and wonder why they cost so much. I've seen live edge tables that use upwards of 30+ GALLONS of resin.
Imagine, the slightest wrong measurement, which prevents the resin from a proper cure, at that level. Yes, it does happen. But I digress.
So, here's a peek at something small scale I am working on. I build my own forms for these from foam core and polymers tape, because it's the easiest(and cheapest) way to do it when you don't have your own workshop full of tools. I have a few things to work with, but obviously none of the stuff you see on those YouTube videos. And frankly, being able to do most of it strictly by hand is very fulfilling.
As usual, if there is something you would like to see in the shop, let me know and we'll get it made!
