Hosting at home is hardly one-size-fits-all.

We design entertainment-ready spaces around the way our clients gather, or what hosting looks like for them. For some, that means a self-sufficient pool house that welcomes overnight guests. For others, an expansive alfresco setting that comfortably holds the whole extended family.

In California, indoor-outdoor living is a given. But making it feel seamless requires care; thoughtful circulation, durable materials, comfortable furniture, and finishes that withstand the elements and age gracefully.

These aren't simply new construction projects.

They are acts of resilience.

Over the past several months, we've begun work on multiple homes in Altadena for families who lost everything in the fires that swept through the community last January. Unlike most new builds, which are often planned years in advance, these projects began in the wake of profound loss and unimaginable disruption.

What stays with us is the resolve of these homeowners. Their willingness to begin again. To envision a future home while still navigating the weight of what was left behind.

It has been an honor to walk alongside them during this chapter, offering guidance and advocacy throughout the design process.

We look forward to sharing their progress as these structures gradually become deeply personal homes.

While this home is new to us, the client is not.

Several years ago, we designed her California residence. Now, we’ve been invited back, this time to reimagine her new Fort Wayne home as she begins another chapter.

That continuity is priceless. We already understand how she lives, how she makes decisions, what brings a sense of ease to her daily routine, and where design matters most to her. There’s an established rhythm to the relationship now. Communication feels intuitive. The process, more assured.

These long-term partnerships allow the work to deepen over time. Not just aesthetically, but strategically.
