so, i've done a thing...i had high hopes for this meal, but it was a let down. eggs were not done enough, the meat was chewy and the broth was bland...at least there are plenty of chances to perfect this ramen dish in the future and it was pretty to look at. if you have any great recipes for ramen you would like to share, please pass them my way!

so, i've done a thing...a little different type of food feelings today - smoked cheeses! gouda, morning harvest, bandon cheddar, parmesan, havarti, asiago and horseradish cheddar. some faired better than others after 1 hour of cold smoking in the brick oven. they are taking a rest now for 3 days and we will dig into them wednesday evening with some fresh sour dough to see how they turned out.

so many things to be thankful for this year. so, i have done a thing...today was a first with a turkey cooked in the brick oven! rolls, brussels, hammered potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole and apple crisp...thanks ! two dogs behaving and one dog was in time out for sampling the turkey leg ahead of schedule. tomorrow i will be thankful for all of the leftovers.

so, i've done a thing...tonight's menu - homemade mac n cheese (smoked gouda/havarti/parmesan/cheddar) with homemade sour dough bread squares on top and hill's chili & smoked paprika sausages. if you haven't tried hill's products, i am so sorry...they are sooo good.
