We’re not saying our old showroom display was outdated, but we’re pretty sure it was code for "built in the previous century." 🦖🙈

We finally gave our own La Plata showroom the treatment we usually give your homes, and the transformation is honestly borderline offensive to our past choices. Goodbye old, tired cabinets... hello gorgeous, sleek new Fabuwood Cabinetry! 🥳🙌 In our kitchen we did a wonderful combo of Fusion Oyster on the bottom and Galaxy Desert Oak on the top, finishing off the island with the moody Luxe Canyon Oak to tie it all together.

As a Project Coordinator, I live for a dramatic transformation, but seeing our own daily workspace go from “meh” to “absolutely magnificent” is hitting different.

Yesterday, we fell in love with our fresh Pistachio Green and Linen mood board. But here at Custom Kitchens, it is our job to design and figure out exactly how to make that dream function flawlessly in your home.

If you're thinking about a multi-colored or "tuxedo-style" kitchen (where the upper and lower cabinets are different colors), here are 3 technical details we map out behind the scenes to keep your project running at full speed:

1️⃣ The Focal Point Factor: To keep a two-toned kitchen looking balanced, we choose a dominant color (usually the darker shade on the lowers) and use the lighter shade on the uppers to make the ceilings feel higher and airier.
