New construction can give you the right location, floor plan and architecture without necessarily giving you a home that feels like you.

That was the opportunity at our Indigo project.

The Mediterranean-inspired architecture gave us a clear starting point, but the standard finishes didn’t reflect the clients or the way they wanted the home to feel.

We introduced custom finishes, furnishings, color and texture throughout the interior and exterior, allowing the home to feel more connected to its architecture and much more personal to the people living in it.

Customization isn’t always about adding more.

It’s about making it more exclusive and personal.

Inspiration is a starting point, not a blueprint.

An image might capture a color combination, the patina of a material, an architectural detail, or simply a feeling that resonates. The goal isn’t to recreate it. It’s to understand what’s compelling about it and translate that into something specific to the home and the people living there.

These projects show how differently that translation can take shape. A deep green becomes cabinetry. A textile influences a palette. The curve of an architectural detail finds its way into a room. Texture, pattern, and material are interpreted rather than replicated.

That’s where design becomes personal.

Las Lunas Project - A Cape Cod cottage reimagined for modern family life. What began as a phased remodel evolved into a full-home renovation, introducing a more functional layout and a stronger connection between the home’s primary spaces. We preserved existing millwork and hardwood flooring, incorporated modern finishes & fixtures, expressive wallcoverings, custom furnishings, and contemporary architectural details. The result is a refined transitional home that feels rooted in its history and renewed for its next chapter.

Following last week’s reveal, here are a few of our favorite shots of Las Lunas.

In a room filled with natural light, material becomes even more important.

Here in our Lasuen Project notice how the smooth plaster table top contrasts with distressed oak, the lacquered faux horn sideboard adds subtle movement, and custom upholstered dining chairs with leather arms bring softness and warmth.

The materials respond differently as the light moves through the space, giving this contemporary dining room depth while keeping the overall composition quiet and refined.

The Las Lunas Project, revealed.

This project was never about creating one perfect room. It was about making the entire house feel connected.

Throughout Las Lunas, we worked with warm woods, muted colors, natural stone, tailored textiles, and custom cabinetry to create a consistent language from one space to the next. Details shift from room to room, but the feeling remains the same: collected, comfortable, and considered.

Some of my favorite moments are also the quieter ones. The way the millwork frames the living room, the transition into the kitchen and the neutral cabinetry carried into smaller spaces. The mix of patterned tiles and wallcoverings. The millwork details that add character without asking for too much attention.

Every decision came back to the architecture of the home and the way our clients wanted to live in it.

The result feels layered and personal, with enough restraint to let the materials, craftsmanship, and details speak for themselves.

Welcome to Las Lunas.

A room rarely feels finished because of what’s added.

More often, it feels complete because of what’s carefully curated.

Styling is about creating moments of balance, allowing materials to breathe, and choosing objects that feel authentic to the people who live there. Every layer should support the design instead of competing with it.

The goal is to make the home feel naturally lived in from the moment our clients walk through the door.

🎉 Six years 🎉

When I started Joseph Interiors, I hoped to build more than a design business. I wanted to create a practice rooted in thoughtful design, strong relationships, and a process clients could trust from start to finish.

Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for how far we’ve come.

Over the past six years, we’ve experienced steady growth, built a small but mighty team, collaborated with talented architects, builders, and craftsmen, and had the privilege of designing homes for incredible clients. Many have trusted us more than once, and that continued confidence means more than I can put into words.

Growth has never been about doing more for the sake of it. It’s been about doing better. Refining our process, strengthening our relationships, and creating homes that feel deeply personal to the people who live in them.

None of this would be possible without our clients, our team, and the partners who bring these homes to life alongside us. Thank you for believing in our vision and trusting us with something so personal.

Here’s to the next chapter and all that’s still to come.

One of my favorite parts of the design process is watching inspiration evolve into something tangible.

The images we gather at the beginning of a project aren’t meant to be copied. They’re tools that help us define a feeling, establish a direction, and uncover what resonates most with our clients.

Over time, those influences are refined through material selections, architectural details, furnishings, and countless design decisions until they become something entirely their own.

Every completed project starts as a collection of ideas. The challenge and the reward is transforming those ideas into a home that feels authentic, cohesive, and deeply personal.

A beautiful home isn’t created the day the furniture arrives.

It’s built through a concise process and hundreds of decisions that happen long before the final reveal.

Construction is where drawings become reality, but it’s also where the unexpected shows up. Existing conditions, field adjustments, product lead times, and countless questions that require thoughtful decisions in real-time.

This is why we stay involved throughout the construction process. Not just to answer questions, but to ensure every detail we’ve carefully planned is executed as intended.

The goal isn’t simply to get to the finish line. It’s to create a home where everything feels considered and cohesive because every decision along the way was made with intention.

The World Cup has a way of making you proud of where you come from.

Even though Brazil may no longer be in the running, it has had me reflecting on how growing up Brazilian has shaped the way I design.

One lesson that has stayed with me is the importance of living outdoors.

In Brazil, outdoor spaces are often woven into daily life. Meals extend onto the terrace. Family gatherings move easily between rooms and patios. The landscape becomes part of the experience of home.

That perspective continues to influence the way I approach design today.

The most successful outdoor spaces aren’t simply furnished. They’re thoughtfully integrated into the home and designed to support the way people live, gather, and unwind.

When the transition between indoors and outdoors feels effortless, the entire home feels more expansive, connected, and livable.

How do you use your outdoor spaces most often: entertaining, relaxing, dining, or spending time with family?
