Greetings, our crafty friends!

So many exciting things are taking shape at The Crafted Kind, and we would love for you to be part of them! From beautiful yarn and fresh inspiration to new collaborations, artisan trunk shows, and future workshops, our creative community continues to grow, and we couldn’t be happier.

Some of you have already seen Marcus do his magic at the shop. Whether he is helping our customers pick yarn for their next project, fix a mistake in their work, or just simply brighten their day with an attuned conversation, he does so with passion and care, and we could not be happier to have him on the team! Please give him a warm welcome!

Save the date! PARCEL Fiber Co. will be holding a trunk show at The Crafted Kind on Saturday, September 5, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Come discover beautiful yarns and colorways, meet Liliana, and gather plenty of inspiration for your next project. We’re looking forward to a colorful and inspiring Saturday at the shop!

We are putting out a call for creative collaborators. Are you a knitting or crochet pattern designer, sample maker, test knitter, fiber artist, fiber arts teacher, photographer, content creator, or another kind of creative? We would love to hear from you!

We’re interested in exploring collaborations involving shop samples, original patterns, kits, make-alongs, workshops, special events, community projects, and ideas we may not have imagined yet. If you have an idea, or simply feel that we might create something wonderful together, please reach out to us at [email protected] with the subject “Collab”. Tell us a little about yourself, what you create, and how you would like to collaborate.

We would love to hear from independent artisans and makers who may be interested in holding a future trunk show at The Crafted Kind. We’re especially interested in thoughtfully handmade products that complement our fiber community, including hand-dyed yarn and fiber, project bags, stitch markers, notions, buttons, shawl pins, yarn bowls, ceramics, jewelry, textile art, and other creative goods.

This is an initial interest inquiry, and we’ll review each submission based on compatibility with the shop, our calendar, and the interests of our community.

Finally, we want you to take a part of planning our next season of workshops! What would you love to learn at The Crafted Kind?

The yarn crawl was a success, and we are so grateful for all your support! If you are a winner of any of the prizes, feel free to stop by or reach out via email/Instagram to coordinate a pickup/shipment.

Right after the crawl, on April 4, we had a great trunk show collab with Parcel Fiber Co! We are so happy with how it turned out and are looking forward to more collabs in the future 🥂

Saturday, April 25th is International Local Yarn Store day, and what a better day to hold an appreciation event for the hat drive that took place in the months of January and February!

We are honored to host the event to celebrate the contributors at our shop on Saturday, April 25th between 2-5 PM. Social Stitch Morning will take place as usual from 9-11 AM! 🧶

Suncoast Fiber Co

Suncoast Fiber Co sent her hand dyed yarns to the shop, and they are available in a beautiful merino cashmere nylon base in DK weight in 8 stunning shades ✨ Come check them out!

The Crafted Kind Color Lab

Our own hand-dyed line, The Crafted Kind Color Lab is finally here! The base for the yarns is wool and silk, and word from the testers so far is that it’s amazing… but you have to see for yourself 😉

Lake Mary Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

The Lake Mary Arbor Day Tree Giveaway is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lake Mary Farmers Market in Central Park (100 N Country Club Road). Attendees can receive one free tree per household while supplies last, featuring species like the Red Maple and Sweetbay Magnolia.

Free tree parking will be provided by the front of the store!
