💦Last month’s water main break made it seem like Mother’s Day revenue wasn’t written in the stars for many Orion businesses. That’s why we’re creating a special do-over day to help illuminate the sales and support they missed on one of the year’s brightest days for shopping and dining.🛍

🌸Orion, it’s time for a REDO — Retail. Experience. Dine. Orion.🌸

🎇Rebook the brunch you missed, shop and dine local, and support the businesses that help our community shine.🎇

💥Let’s make it a point the week of June 14 to visit all our favorite Orion restaurants, shops, and businesses during their regular business hours.💥

The water emergency may be behind us, but Orion’s spirit of showing up for one another is stronger than ever.

Show us your REDO! 📸Share a selfie or photo with of you, your friends, or your family supporting local businesses for a chance to win gift cards and other prizes.🏆

The Taste of Place - For most of human history, food reflected where it came from. Orchards, fields, forests, and farms shaped both flavor and character.

Today, our food system is remarkably efficient. Foods are selected for appearance, shelf life, transportation, and consistency. We can buy almost anything, almost anytime, anywhere.

But efficiency often comes with trade-offs.

When foods are bred, harvested, processed, and distributed primarily for uniformity, flavor can become secondary. Many of us have never experienced how distinctive a truly local product can be.

Honey is one of the last foods that can still capture a place.

Wildflower honey tastes different from Apple Blossom. Apple Blossom tastes different from Blueberry. Just as wine reflects a vineyard and tea reflects a region, honey reflects the blossoms, orchards, fields, weather, and season from which it came.

Most supermarket honey is blended to achieve consistency. Real honey is the opposite. It changes from harvest to harvest, blossom to blossom, season to season.

Beginning next week, we'll welcome Apple Blossom Honey to our tasting table. Blueberry, Lavender, and Acacia will follow as the season unfolds.

Each tells a different Michigan story.

We invite you to stop in and taste them for yourself.

It turned into a beautiful afternoon here at the Art & Flower Fair in Downtown Lake Orion. We’re co-located this weekend with Green Goods Wagon, whose wonderful baked goods, scones, and tea-time treats have become part of many of our Honey & Tea tastings, High Tea gatherings, and special events throughout the year.

Roses of Silverbell is featuring our Pure Michigan honey varietals, loose-leaf teas, and a small taste of the warm, pantry-style experience we continue building inside the shop.

If you missed us today, we’ll be back tomorrow, Sunday, for Day Two of the Fair.
