After a rejuvenating summer filled with newborn snuggles, I'm officially back to design work! Everyone has been responded to who reached out during maternity leave and current clients will be receiving revisions in the next several weeks, which means my books are open for later this fall!

Thank you for all of the love to my family during this special season as we welcomed in our third baby ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

As I look back on my notes from the consultation of this home, I have in all caps: "WANTS CHARACTER!" I believe we nailed it with all of these details:

1. Dressed up cabinet crown molding
2. Crown molding on the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom ceilings
3. Custom wainscoting on the kitchen and living room walls
4. Custom cabinet details throughout the entire home
5. Custom island table
6. Custom island-height kitchen table
7. The detailed fireplace

I'm likely missing a few ๐Ÿ˜‰ But overall, these characteristics detail a cohesive design that is going to age well into the future for this incredible family.

If you're wondering where the updates stop at this farmhouse remodel, it's with these stairs to the basement (but don't quit watching now - I still need to share the living room and kitchen!).

Since the stairs are visible from the front door and living room, the old railing and carpet had to go! Creekside Customs built a custom hickory newel post and stair treads, and we updated the carpet to a runner for soft footsteps while going up and down the stairs (if you have kids, you understand ;) )

The back hallway received it's own refresh!

Creekside Customs built this well-thought-out built-in to house cleaning supplies, extra kitchen items, and shoes in the bottom portion as this family heads out of the house. The perfect landing cabinet!

One of the bigger changes in this farmhouse remodel was the master bedroom. With two ways to enter, it was hard to place furniture in here. By eliminating the living room door into the bedroom, the placement of furniture just makes more sense.

I drew up an accent wall that also works as a headboard, with floating night stands and sconces above, and crown molding was added to the ceiling. Creekside Customs brought the vision to life with his craftsmanship! I think I may also have a new favorite patterned carpet -- it really makes the space instead of using a rug!

Older farmhouses are fun to work with. Even with the narrowness of this hallway/laundry room, we added storage and updated the entire look with flooring and paint. This goes to show that even tucked away spots that are hidden, deserve some love too.

Bathrooms are really a great place to add fun design elements, even if it's as simple as bringing in a fun colored tile and doing a pattern, like we did in this remodel.

Not only did Creekside Customs paint the original vanity, we selected a new quartz top, sink and faucet for it, added a new linen cabinet, shifted the toilet, and totally redid the shower in this gorgeous green herringbone tile pattern.

A great update for this farmhouse! Swipe to see the before.

After shopping around for a dining table, our clients couldn't find one that was suiting their family's needs. We mocked up a few versions, made some tweaks, and Creekside Customs executed this stunning round, extendable, bar height table made out of hickory to match the lower cabinets of this kitchen. They were thrilled with the results and the craftsmanship!

Coming out of my maternity leave bubble to share a sneak peek of a stunning transformation...

Most older farmhouses need additional love after some time, and that reigns true for this transformation. The entire main level received a much needed facelift, including the kitchen, living room, master bedroom, laundry, and bathroom. My favorite feature from the whole remodel is the glass hutch in the kitchen with its stained interior. It's a stunning glassware display!

Keep your eye out for more before/after shots on this beautiful home!

P.S. I'm on maternity leave through the end of August; I will share when I'm accepting new clients.
