We Used BOTH Lasers on One Tumbler 🔥 | xTool F2 Ultra + RA3 Pro

Today we tested the xTool F2 Ultra together with the xTool RA3 Pro on a Hogg tumbler using a dual-pass engraving process.

For this project, we used the blue diode laser for the first engraving pass and followed it up with a cleanup and refinement pass using the fiber laser to improve detail and contrast.

Before engraving, we carefully cleaned the tumbler, used gloves to avoid transferring oils onto the surface, and mounted the cup onto the rotary attachment for smooth rotation during engraving.

After the engraving process was complete, we cleaned the tumbler using LA Awesome and microfiber wipes to remove residue and bring out the final finish.

We also made sure to follow proper safety procedures while filming outdoors, including keeping the enclosure down around others and wearing safety glasses during operation and filming.

The portability and speed of this setup makes it incredibly fun for rotary engraving, custom tumbler work, small business production, and live demonstrations.

Can the xTool P2 engrave BRICKS? 🇺🇸🧱

We decided to find out.

After multiple test runs, we finally dialed in a solid setup for engraving Holland red clay bricks using the xTool P2 CO2 laser — and honestly, the results came out better than expected.

This project took:
✔️ testing different speeds
✔️ adjusting line density
✔️ experimenting with multiple passes
✔️ LOTS of dust cleanup 😅

One thing we learned fast:
Brick engraving is completely different from wood or acrylic. Slower speeds and lower LPI settings gave us a much deeper “memorial style” carve instead of a light surface mark.

🛠️ Deep engraving techniques

You can mask the brick beforehand if you want cleaner paint-fill results afterward, but for this test we focused mainly on dialing in the engraving depth itself.

We’re still refining the process, but this was a huge step forward.

We’re engraving custom leather hat patches using the xTool F2 laser and getting them ready for a pressure washing company in Florida.
