I know it's not all cats, but the completion of Boomer the dog sure does make this collection feel more like the family is complete! He gets to stay with me for a couple weeks before going to his forever home. I think I'm going to miss him. This set of animals was fun to create! 🐾♥️🐾

We got our hands dirty today & had a great time! We read The Pout, Pout Fish, by Deborah Diesen. It's a book about a fish who thinks he brings sadness because of his lips, but later discovers he's actually destined to spread the cheery cheeries all over.

I think they look great already (even better in person!), but I can't wait to see what they look like after they get painted! They are going to spread some true joy!!! 🐟🥳🐟

Sometimes I sit down to draw and the most random thing comes out of my pencil! To remember there was a time I said, "I can't." brings a smile to my face. I believed that statement, but I took a chance and proved myself wrong.

Now, if I'm to choose a favorite client profile, it is the person who also says, "I can't. ". You may not get it right on the first try. But taking those first steps is all of takes! You'll learn faster than you think you will. It's a beautiful process that's well worth your time! It builds confidence and works your brain in new ways. It'll bring joy and relieve stress. Art is more amazing than we realize because this list could go on and on! 💞

Saturday Imagination Station! We work on a wide variety of art on Saturday mornings!
🌸This week we painted flower pots.

Zendoodle class began with creating some simple watercolor backgrounds. Then we learned some botanicals before creating our cards.

I still need to mount mine, but you can see where the journey took me. It was an interesting one! I'll be transparent...I did not like what was happening on mine while we were in class.

One of the things we are taught is to allow mistakes to inspire us. Sometimes that's easier said than done. In this case, I'm not sure I would have even considered my drawing a mistake. It just felt large and or of control. I'm glad I pressed on! It may not be my favorite card I've made to date, but I do think that it came together nicely.

As for the red and yellow watercolor, haha, I didn't love that at first either. It isn't what I was thinking when I first put the paint down. I'm not sure how it happened. As I was looking at those colors, I began to envision a brick wall. I wondered if it could actually work the way I imagined, so I snapped a photo and began drawing on it. It was fun to see it begin to transform! In the end, I'm happy I will be able to gift these cards!

With a long day planned at a music event for my students, I didn't expect to have the chance to enjoy art much today. I think you may enjoy learning about what happened!

I was assigned to the registration desk. (A fun & busy place to work!) Through conversation, I learned that the person working with me was interested in learning some Zentangles despite feeling like she couldn't draw. If you know me, that's my favorite type of person to work with! She did a fabulous job! And at the end of the day, she told me I could teach her to tangle anytime! 😂

I was thrilled with the opportunity we took and tried not to think about the fact that I hadn't been able to teach my art classes due to the music event. You can only imagine how unbelievably happy I was to receive a text from one of my art student's parents! She said she and her daughter spent some time painting together today. That alone thrilled me! Check out the paintings they did! Mom did the flowers and daughter did the sunset. It's so cool when they can practice outside of class!

I posted this on the Zendoodle group yesterday, but thought you may like to see it here also! Our project included some new botanicals and a bit of watercolor.

I was able to teach this Zendoodle to someone who told me she isn't a person who can copy a picture. What I find so beautiful is that drawing isn't something that comes naturally to her, yet she was pleasantly surprised with her results. She enjoyed her time and found it relaxing despite her initial hesitation. 🌺🌸❤️ Kudos to her for trying and congratulations on your first successful project! 🙌🤩🥳
