Zendoodle class began with creating some simple watercolor backgrounds. Then we learned some botanicals before creating our cards.
I still need to mount mine, but you can see where the journey took me. It was an interesting one! I'll be transparent...I did not like what was happening on mine while we were in class.
One of the things we are taught is to allow mistakes to inspire us. Sometimes that's easier said than done. In this case, I'm not sure I would have even considered my drawing a mistake. It just felt large and or of control. I'm glad I pressed on! It may not be my favorite card I've made to date, but I do think that it came together nicely.
As for the red and yellow watercolor, haha, I didn't love that at first either. It isn't what I was thinking when I first put the paint down. I'm not sure how it happened. As I was looking at those colors, I began to envision a brick wall. I wondered if it could actually work the way I imagined, so I snapped a photo and began drawing on it. It was fun to see it begin to transform! In the end, I'm happy I will be able to gift these cards!
I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share this art form! We meet Wednesdays at 11:30 am ET if you'd like to join us. For the cat lovers out there, I'll let you know we're planning a cat series! No experience necessary! And if you can't make it on Wednesdays, reach out. We'll plan a time that works for you!
