Home bars will always have a special place in our hearts. 🍸

They’re one of those spaces where the rules can loosen up a bit. A little more personality, a little more color, a little more fun. It gives us the chance to create something unexpected that feels uniquely tailored to the people who live there.

This one is full of character, and designing it reminded us why these spaces are some of our favorites. The best spaces aren’t always the biggest ones. Sometimes they’re the little corners that make you smile every time you walk by.

This has been such a meaningful project to Banyan House Design Group! I started working with these clients a couple of years ago. Building a very custom home takes a little longer than the average home build. As we often say, “good design takes time!” Starting on Monday, the furniture will start to be delivered, and this house will finally become a home! It has been such a pleasure working with my clients, and as always, with !!

5 affordable ways to upgrade your Florida home:

1. Sheer linen curtains. If you’re someone who loves that bright, airy Florida light, you need sheer linen curtains in your home because they filter the harsh sun while keeping your space feeling open, breezy, and effortlessly coastal.

2. Woven accents. If you’re someone who wants to capture that laid-back, Old Florida charm, integrate some woven pieces into your home because statement pieces like baskets, mirrors, or casual dining chairs can instantly warm up a space and tie a whole room together.

3.Coastal colored throw pillows (like soft blues and greens!). Try coastal colors in your home to create a fast and affordable way to transform the mood of a room.

4. Old thrifted Florida artwork. Adding in some vintage photographs or paintings can bring character to your space. Pro tip: Don’t pass over great artwork due to bad framing! That can always be changed :)

5. Indoor tropical plants. If you’re someone who wants to bring the magic of Florida’s outdoors inside, you need tropical plants in your home because nothing adds life, color, and that lush Sunshine State energy to a space quite like a monstera or bird of paradise.
