Growing up in Denmark, Flemming was surrounded by family members who were master craftsmen. The creative potential and natural beauty of wood motivated him to forge his own path in mastering the art of carpentry. He found that his passion as a carpenter has always been handcrafting wood products that are both beautiful and functional. Find Flemming and all of his woodwork in the Hjemkomst Hall!

It was great being a vendor again this year and seeing the wonderful turn out at Danish Day in Minneapolis!

Danish Day Sunday June 7
Make sure to put this on your calendar for an afternoon of good food and great fellowship as we celebrate Grundlovsdag! There will be food and drink to purchase including Danish style hot dogs with all the trimmings, frikadeller, shrimp salad, Havarti on rugbrød, herring, æbleskiver, layer cake, cookie bags and ice cream. We will also have beer, wine, akvavit and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages including coffee, soda and sparkling water available for sale as well. Minneapolis is providing us with an outdoor water dispenser so we are encouraging people to bring their own water bottles for that. You are welcome to bring your own food if you wish. However, no outside alcohol or beer is allowed.

Purchase advance tickets for food and beverages and beat the lines. Advance ticket sales cut off Saturday, June 6 at 7 pm.

Activities include Nordic art and craft vendors, Viking Guild demonstrations, kids activities and for the second year, Loppemarked (flea market) so plan on shopping and eating while being entertained all the day.

DANISH DAY SCHEDULE

11am – 3 pm Food booths, Vendors & Loppemarked (flea market) open, Viking Guild Demonstrations

12:15pm National Anthems - Taylor Ann Grand

President’s Welcome & Dane of the Year announcement - Peter Gantriis

1-3pm - Musical performances on the outdoor stage

2pm Children’s Nisse hunt

3pm Danish Day Ends
