Before Fredericksburg became the beloved Hill Country destination it is today, German settlers created what are now known as “Sunday Houses” — small in-town dwellings used during weekend visits from their rural farms and ranches. Built in the late 1800s, these homes offered families a place to gather for church, shopping, social events, and connection with the community after long horse-and-buggy journeys into town.
We were part of the project team that reimagined the Sunday House concept through a lens rooted in regional influences — from a color palette inspired by the surroundings, to thoughtfully detailed millwork that pays homage to the area’s rich cabinet-making heritage.
The result is a timeless interpretation of the Sunday House tradition, blending the character and craftsmanship of the Texas Hill Country with modern living through the fractional residences at Boot Ranch.
