Please welcome the newest guest designer to David Lyall Design — Otis!

After years of rigorous study in interior-pup design, Otis is ready to share his expertise with the team. His extensive training includes dog bed design, strategic bone placement, furniture comfort testing, and the fine art of determining exactly where to dig a hole.

With his fresh perspective and undeniable expertise in all things cozy, we’re sure Otis will bring a whole new point of view to our design projects.

Otis will be accepting design consultations on a very limited, treat-based schedule.

Some of the most exciting moments in a project happen around the table at David Lyall Design.

Pulling fabrics, finishes, colors, and one-of-a-kind pieces together is where a room truly begins to take shape. It’s the process of layering ideas, trying unexpected combinations, and finding those little details that make everything feel just right.

At its heart, it’s a truly collaborative process. Our team brings different perspectives, ideas, and instincts to the table — and together, we create something that feels thoughtful, cohesive, and uniquely suited to the space.

The selections may start as samples and swatches, but seeing them come together is where the magic happens.

It is one of our favorite parts of the design process — and honestly, one of the most fun.

Down to the studs, but already taking shape.

We’re well into the design of this two-story penthouse, and construction is just around the corner. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered—from distinctive finishes and a kitchen designed for effortless entertaining to the way our clients will move through, live in, and adapt to city living.

Expansive windows and exclusive balconies offer an unparalleled view of downtown Lancaster—one that simply can’t be found anywhere else. A home designed not just to look beautiful, but to live beautifully.

An exciting new project on the horizon — an 18th-century Germanic Pennsylvania farmhouse with a story worth preserving.

Our goal is to honor what makes this piece of history so special and traditional, while thoughtfully introducing something incredibly unique and personal for our client. It’s a delicate balance of preservation and innovation, creating a home that feels rooted in its history while still feeling entirely its own.

We’re incredibly excited to begin this journey and to have the opportunity to breathe new life into such a remarkable piece of Pennsylvania history.

Lighting makes all the difference - it not only shapes the way a room feels, but can also be a beautiful decorative element in its own right. There’s a reason it’s often called the jewelry of the room—the right lighting adds that final layer of warmth, character, and style.

At David Lyall Design, lighting design is something we do every day. From creating the right ambiance to selecting fixtures that complement the overall design, we can help you bring your space to life—beautifully and intentionally.

Another wonderful install and a beautiful refresh for a client’s home.

A new, more modern sectional brought fresh energy to the space while keeping the comfort, function, and flow of everyday life intact.

Sometimes, you don’t need a complete transformation. A few thoughtful changes can make all the difference
