Adventures in skull painting! Fun fact: I process a lot of my skulls completely from scratch. As in: I skin, boil, clean, whiten, and reinforce structural weak spots in them before I even think about putting brush to bone. Skull painting is really the perfect embodiment of the truth that a lot of what people see as art is actually only a tiny fraction of the process behind what makes that art possible in the first place. (And I hope everyone keeps that in mind whenever they feel the impulse to criticize an artist's prices.)

BUTTE!! I'm heading your way this weekend for the iconic May Fair!
As someone who grew up going to the May Fair in its earliest years, it feels so special to be going back there and to my hometown as a vendor this time. Naturally I have some Montana and Butte specific art, as well as tons of other stuff so if you're in Southwest Montana this weekend, I hope to see you there.

Ayyyyy guess who is adding yet another medium to their repertoir?! As someone with an oil painting background, the fickle, quick-drying nature of acryllic paint is typically not my go-to, but because I'm staring down the barrel of a long summer of art markets, I decided I needed something a bit quicker and more practical than my oils, which typically take 3+ months from start to finish.
These originals and prints of them will all be available tonight from 5pm-8pm and tomorrow from 9am-3pm at the Lander Community Center.

Newest obsession: framed Kinusaiga collages.

Each piece is hand-cut, layered, and tucked together. I’ve been leaning further into texture, depth, and unusal material integrations. and I’m honestly super psyched on how these turned out.

They’ll be coming with me to some upcoming markets I have in early May, so if you want to see them in person (and run your fingers over all that fabric goodness), I hope to see you there!
