From a slab of clay to a little piece of mountain meadow. 🌿
Before the color, before the glaze, before the finished piece…there is the carving.
Every stem, leaf, wing, and wandering line is cut into the clay by hand. It’s a slow process—and honestly, that’s one of my favorite parts.
The Mountain Meadow tile began as a quiet piece of clay and slowly became a landscape: wildflowers reaching toward the light, a butterfly passing through, and the feeling of standing in a Wyoming meadow when everything is blooming at once.
Swipe to see the transformation—from the first carved lines to the finished tile.
This is what I love about making things by hand: you can still see the time in them.
