Here’s one from the archives! Our family always talks about the time our terrier, Bendi, jumped off the deck at our old house to chase a squirrel. She was fine, so was the squirrel. It’s my daughter’s reaction that I love the most 😂

Two years ago, we finally got to call this little farmhouse home.

Two years of porch mornings, garden days, sunsets, projects, and making sweet memories.

Still pinching myself that this dream is ours. 🏡🌿

I love fall, but we’re over here still harvesting veggies and fruit and enjoying temperatures in the high 80s. 🌿☀️

The hummingbirds, butterflies, and praying mantis are thriving, and there’s still so much life happening in the garden. So, we’re going to hold onto summer for as long as we can.

My fall decorations and favorite scented candles can wait just a little while longer. 😉

p.s. I’ll miss you, Dolly. I’ll forever be listening to your music and words to love by. 🦋

This has been the best trellis I have found for my pumpkins & gourds, comment or message garden “trellis” and I’ll send you my link! 🎃 🍃

The second half of life… a little farmhouse, a porch, wildflowers, a garden, slow mornings, and my husband happily in the kitchen doing his part, he’s so much better at cooking than me. 😁

The dahlia flower is pure goodness. These beautiful blooms bring me so much joy, and I’ll be basking in their beauty for the next several months. 🌸✨

Okra is one of the new things I tried in the garden this year, and I honestly had no idea how easy it would be to grow—or how beautiful it would be! 🌿

Those tall, leafy green stalks and the prettiest little flowers make it just as beautiful in the garden as it is useful in the kitchen. 💚

Okra is one of those veggies people seem to either love or avoid. Most people know it fried, but it’s also delicious in soups and stews. And my absolute favorite way to eat it is in my husband’s delicious gumbo.

It’s very easy to freeze. Just slice it up, flash freeze it on parchment paper in a single layer, then toss it into a freezer bag. Easy peasy!

I planted a few more seeds last week, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll have enough for a batch of pickled okra. 🥒💚

Another little garden lesson learned this year! 🌱

You can be strong, independent, and still need a little help getting back on your feet. 🐢
