One of my favourite parts of the day is arriving at the boutique before opening - tweaking the displays, adding fresh flowers, making sure new products are featured, enjoying the morning light before the day begins.
My hope is that when you step into Exquisite Blumen, you feel a little of that same enjoyment, inspired by what you see, excited by what you discover, and perhaps tempted to take a little beauty home with you.

Feeling incredibly honored and grateful to be featured on the cover of the Whidbey & Fidalgo Islander.
When I opened the doors to Exquisite Blumen, I simply hoped to create a beautiful space where flowers, plants, nature, and thoughtful gifts could be enjoyed and shared. To see that vision embraced by our community means more than I can say.
The boutique continues to evolve with every season, every new idea, and every plant that finds its place. I’m looking forward to seeing where this adventure takes us next, there are still so many beautiful things I want to create!

These speciality pansies are a thoughtful gift from a local flower grower I often source from for the shop. These are frilly Japanese blooms from the Elegance Twilight Collection, and aren’t they just so special!
I placed them beside a few of my crystals and the pairing looks and feels perfect.
The larger piece is Pink Amethyst, a soothing variety of quartz known for its calming energy and connection to emotional healing. Tne rose-shaped crystals are Rose Quartz, the “stone of unconditional love” and I think you can sense how inspiring and grounding it feels through the screen!

An overcast grey day, but my garden didn’t get the memo.
Peonies, lilies, and cosmos are all coming into bloom, and everywhere I turn there’s another floral arrangement I get inspired to create.

Does anyone else get this excited over dahlia tubers?
We are finally ready to plant ours - perhaps a little later than planned this year, but experience has taught me not to panic. Good preparation counts for a great deal, and these tubers are more than ready to get going.
If you’re planting yours now too, my tip is to choose a sheltered but sunny spot with rich, well-draining soil. Lay the tubers horizontally with the eyes facing upward, and let nature take it from there!

Arthur and I had the loveliest day selecting beautiful fresh flowers for the newest bouquets at the Exquisite Blumen.
And this time, the ranunculus from my own garden are woven through the arrangements - which makes them feel especially personal.

This is my first season growing ranunculus, and I’ve completely fallen for them. They are endlessly fascinating: delicate-looking, yet surprisingly resilient, and every bloom feels more extravagant than the last.
I’m learning as I go, which is part of the joy. Did you know each flower can have over 100 petals? That’s what gives them their lush, layered look and makes them such a favorite for bouquets.
One of my favorite things about them is how they respond to the weather. On colder days, the petals gently close into a cup shape to hold warmth from the sun, creating the cosiest little shelter for insects seeking heat in the garden.
And apparently, ranunculus were once used in traditional medicine to soothe aches and sore joints… which, after a long day gardening, sounds increasingly tempting.
