This is how I stay organized as a small business owner.

I’m a florist who works exclusively with artificial flowers, so after an event, this is what my process looks like to put everything back into my storage units so my inventory is organized and ready for the next event.

Storage unit organizing is important to keep my operation running smoothly and my overhead costs low. I do this after every event to ensure my storage units remain clean, tidy, and efficient.

Using artificial flowers at events means they might encounter the occasional drink spill or getting stepped on.

If you notice your silk stems have a stain on them, they probably just need a quick rinse in some soapy water. Let me show you how easy it is to clean faux flower stems, even with tough stains like colored food dyes.

All you need is a bowl of warm water with a drop of dish soap. After just a few dips in the water, this red stain lifted from these white faux flowers with no issue.

Another Tip: If I need to clean a flower on site at an event, I like to use a makeup wipe for quick stain and dirt removals.

This is how I store and transport my faux floral arrangements.

As a florist who works exclusively with artificial flowers, keeping my rental decor items organized in plastic storage containers ensures they remain in good condition, are easy to transport, and can be stored efficiently in my storage unit to maximize space.

Since artificial flower stems are wired, the cut stems can be sharp.

To fix this, I add a dot of hot glue to the end of each stem to cover any exposed wire.

This ensures the ends are sealed and they won’t snag on clothing or scratch anything.

Stop using kitchen scissors to cut your artificial flower stems for your DIY faux floral projects.

Faux flowers have wired stems, so to cut them, you will need diagonal pliers, also known as wire cutters.

You don’t need to buy ones that are expensive from the hardware store, just a cheap multi-pack from anywhere will work.

I always use spring-loaded diagonal pliers; these are much easier to use when cutting a large volume of artificial flower stems since they help to prevent your hand from getting tired or cramping.

One of the best ways to save money on your wedding florals is to repurpose them throughout the day in multiple spaces.

This is how to convert wedding ceremony aisle floral arrangements into high table centerpieces for the reception to save money on your wedding flower budget.

There is usually only about 45 minutes to complete a ceremony to reception “flip”, so choose floral designs that can be quickly and easily converted from the ceremony space to the reception space.

Follow these tips to make better artificial flower bridal and bridesmaid bouquets.

If you’re considering DIY flowers for your wedding, bouquets can be one of the more difficult designs to master.

Artificial flowers make it easier to practice your designs without breaking the stems, so I recommend using faux flowers for your DIY floral design projects. Silk florals also allow you more flexibility with shape and texture without damaging the blooms since most fake flowers have wired stems.

I’m a florist who works exclusively with faux florals, so follow along for more artificial floral design tips and faux flower arranging tutorials.

This is how I build large, structural faux floral bouquets.

Consistently wrapping the stems allows me to get each individual flower or greenery piece right where I want it and at the exact angle.

The other advantage is that I don’t have to worry about trying to hold all the other stems that I’ve already added in one hand while I’m working.

This makes for a more comfortable design process and I don’t have to keep fixing mistakes or reworking the design.

How I make wedding bouquets as a floral designer who only works with faux flowers.

This is my behind the scenes process of how I made a monochromatic, modern bridal bouquet and matching bridesmaid bouquet using only artificial flowers.

Wedding flowers and bridal bouquets made with faux flowers allow you to get the exact blooms and colors that you want for your wedding florals without the risk of damage, seasonal limitations, or high costs associated with certain premium floral stems.
