Nowadays, there are so many options for things, there’s really no excuse to be performing a daily duty in an unattractive way. You can buy a coffee cup anywhere, I get that, but why not buy a coffee cup that’s beautiful? It feels better in your hand, it feels better against your lips. It actually, in my opinion, makes the drink you’re drinking taste better. That’s something you touch every day, so why not have something beautiful to look forward to every morning when you wake up?

Most in-room safes feel like a metal afterthought bolted inside a closet drawer. But when you open one to reveal recessed watch winders, suede-lined accessory trays, and warm interior lighting, the guest experience immediately levels up.

This is a subtle reminder that true luxury is about seamless, functional engineering where you least expect it. Someone knew exactly for whom they were designing this piece.

A quick stop at Louis Vuitton’s White 1921 in Saint-Tropez.

What makes this garden courtyard work isn’t just the subtle brand nods. From the sculpted bas-relief plaster trees behind the bar to the custom carved balusters along the stairwell, it feels like stepping inside a living blueprint.
Instead of hanging art on a flat wall, carving the landscape directly into backlit plaster gives the space immediate tactile depth. Deep cobalt ceramics, slubbed linens, and warm outdoor lighting ground the Riviera aesthetic without resorting to coastal tropes.

The food is amazing as well. 👌

Walking through Èze in the South of France, and you start noticing fake windows painted onto 19th-century facades.
Back in the early 1800s, property taxes were calculated based on the number of windows your home had. The logic? Natural light offset the need for daytime candles and candle wax was one of the biggest economic drivers at the time. To dodge the tax man, homeowners literally bricked up or painted fake windows onto their plaster walls, using the architectural cornice line to map out the floors.
I just love how history is full of architectural quirks born out of people trying to outsmart someone. These painted trompe-l’œil windows became an art form purely because someone didn’t want to pay extra for sunlight. 😄

Spotted these artisanal vessels at the Molteni&C (Molteni&C) showroom in Milan, and they immediately caught my eye. 🏺
Notice how the raw, pitted clay sits right on top of highly polished walnut and Calacatta marble. That contrast is everything. When you pair a precision-cut stone table with an object that looks like it was dug out of an ancient Mediterranean excavation site, the whole room comes alive.
Exquisite materials, hand-formed shapes, zero fluff - here is the proof that you don’t need bright colors to make a massive statement.
