Papillon – or the Butterfly – at Golden Needle Arts!
Come join Alison on Friday, June 27th at 10:30 am to make the lovely Papillon shawl! Warning: this is an addictive knit – once you make one you will want to make lots more!
Knit in garter stitch, you can choose a quick knit version on size 8 needles – full size in two sections, or the traditional sock-weight knit on size 4 needles – full size after knitting all three sections. Alison’s partial “flock” of Papillons:
Quick knit worsted-weight yarn suggestions
Summer: Louisa Harding “Giardino” 2 skeins and Queensland “Myrtle” 2 skeins - $66 yarn cost.
Winter: Jody Long “Andeamo” Light – 1 each solid and variegated - $50 yarn cost.
Full knit sock-weight yarn suggestion: Urth sock weight, 2 skeins variegated, 1 skein solid – $81 yarn cost.
Necessities for both versions: pattern ($15 – search for “Papillon” on Ravelry at www.ravelry.com ), needles (24-32” length fine to start, and longer later!), and lots of stitch markers. Class fee of $25 includes the two-hour class, bonus supplies, ongoing support, and so much fun! Class size is limited to six. Alison also offers additional instruction one-on-one as needed.
