✨ It’s All in the Details! ✨

This kitchen renovation is coming together beautifully, and this is one of those small details that can make a big difference in the finished space.

With a backsplash this bold, standard white or silver outlet covers would immediately stand out and interrupt the flow of the tile. Instead, the faceplates were hand-painted to coordinate with the backsplash, helping them blend into the design rather than compete with it.

It takes a little extra effort, but thoughtful design is often about the details you don’t immediately notice. The result is a more polished, cohesive, and harmonious space.

🌿 Feng Shui Friday: Make Space for What’s Next

As August winds down, your home may still be firmly in summer mode, especially here in Las Vegas! ☀️ But this is a great time to begin shifting the energy of your space without jumping straight into fall.

In Feng Shui, doorways and entryways are important transition points, where energy enters and moves through your home.

This weekend, give your front entrance a quick energy check:

🚪 Make sure the door opens fully without anything blocking it
🧹 Sweep away dirt, leaves, and debris around the entrance
💡 Replace a burned-out porch or entry light
🌱 Remove any struggling or dead plants
✨ Clean your house numbers, door hardware, and welcome mat

Then stand outside your front door and look at your home as if you were arriving for the first time.

✨ PROJECT UPDATE: The Color Is On the Walls! ✨

Remember our new project where we shared some of the bold paint colors we had planned? Well, the rooms are officially painted, and now you can see the vision starting to come together!

One of the things we love about using color is how dramatically it can change the energy of a room. In Feng Shui, color can be used intentionally to bring different elements and feelings into a space, from warmth and energy to creativity, calm, and connection.

And sometimes a paint swatch can look VERY different once it covers four walls!

✨ NEW PROJECT ALERT ✨

We’re so excited to begin transforming this home into a space that truly reflects our client and the next chapter of her life. 🏡

This client came to us through a personal referral after purchasing her home about a year ago. Rather than rushing to decorate, she gave herself time to live in the space and discover what she really wanted. Now, with retirement coming at the end of the year, she’s ready to create a home that feels comfortable, personal, and completely her own.

From a Feng Shui perspective, we love the timing. Major life transitions are a wonderful opportunity to look at how your home can support where you’re going, not just where you’ve been. ✨

We’ll be incorporating five paint colors throughout the home, a new backsplash and cabinet hardware, additional storage in the laundry and hallway, and a beautifully organized master closet area.

And we’re definitely having some fun with color! The powder bath will feature bold red and black with acoustic paneling, while upstairs we’re bringing in purples and yellows to give each bedroom its own energy and personality.

One of our favorite parts of this project is her art collection. Each piece has meaning and a story behind it, so instead of simply hanging artwork, we’re creating a thoughtful display that celebrates her experiences and the things she loves.

Good Feng Shui isn’t about making every home look the same. It’s about creating a space where the colors, belongings, flow, and function support the person who actually lives there.

We can’t wait to show you how this one comes together! 💜✨

We always go on and on about surviving Mercury Retrograde. But wtf are you supposed to do to take advantage of Mercury being Direct?

If the past few weeks have felt like a pause, now is an excellent time to intentionally activate the energy in your home.

🌱 Activate the Helpful People & Travel area (Northwest). Place a metal bowl, a round metallic object, or a white or gray accessory in the northwest area of your home to invite supportive people, mentors, and new opportunities.

💧 Refresh the Water element. Empty and refill pet water bowls, replace stagnant water in fountains, and make sure drains are flowing properly. Water represents abundance and the flow of opportunities. Stagnant water can symbolize stagnant energy.

🚪 Strengthen your front door. Your front entrance is where qi enters your home. Oil squeaky hinges, tighten loose hardware, replace a worn welcome mat, and make sure your house numbers are easy to see. A welcoming entrance encourages new opportunities to find you.

🔥 Wake up neglected spaces. If there's a room or corner you've been avoiding, spend 27 minutes there cleaning, rearranging, or simply opening the windows. In Feng Shui, forgotten areas often correspond to parts of life that feel stuck.

🌿 Check the health of your plants. Thriving plants represent growth and vitality. If a plant has struggled despite your best efforts, it may be time to replace it with a healthy one to symbolize fresh beginnings.

Mercury moving direct doesn't magically change our lives. Our actions do. Feng Shui gives us a way to align our surroundings with the intentions we're ready to pursue.

✨ There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a project come full circle, especially for a returning client. 💙

We're excited to share that this accessible bathroom remodel is officially complete!

Our client recently purchased her new home after transitioning from assisted living, and every update was designed to help her live more comfortably and independently. The new walk in shower provides safer, easier access, and the custom bathroom cabinets were designed with wheelchair accessibility in mind.

We also looked for ways to make the project as cost effective as possible by preserving her existing bathtub and several existing fixtures, proving that thoughtful design doesn't always mean starting from scratch.

Creating spaces that are beautiful, functional, and tailored to each client's needs is what we love most. Thank you for trusting Magdalena's Harmonious Environments once again. It has been an honor to be part of this new chapter. 🏡✨
