🥢✨ Savor tender strips of beef stir-fried with colorful bell peppers and onions in a savory, aromatic sauce that's both sweet and spicy. Perfect served over steamed rice or noodles, this dish brings the bold flavors of Chinese cuisine straight to your kitchen!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 bell peppers (any color), thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
- Optional garnish: sliced green onions, sesame seeds
Directions:
1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper to make the sauce. Set aside.
2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
3. Add thinly sliced flank steak to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed, then add minced garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
5. Add sliced bell peppers and onions to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
6. Return the cooked steak to the skillet, then pour the sauce over the steak and vegetables.
7. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the steak and vegetables.
8. Remove from heat and serve the Chinese Pepper Steak hot over cooked rice or noodles.
9. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
